Poking about and tidy up

This is a little catch all with a load of initial work I have done to the van. First up the van needed a good clean. This took both of us a fragmented weekend to get the van into a pretty clean state inside and out. Whilst we were at it we were also functioning everything we could find on the van to ensure it worked and was in adequate condition. We were pleased to find that the stove, grill, fridge, both sinks, hot water, webasto air top, all 12v lighting, fold out bed, cupboards and cubby holes all work as advertised. Once cleaned most things looked okay being usable at the worst. The fold out (spare) bed, resplendent in blue leatherette, is actually fairly well made and is a close fit. We found some more buttons and some spare blue material so may well repair it for the time being with a recover in the long term. Bigger should be better

I needed a bigger van but following up from the T5 was not going to be easy. This has been playing on my mind for over a year now and with the purchase of another race bike , the problem was getting bigger. What I wanted was enough space for two, preferably three bikes with some living space. I was going to need to convert or buy an already converted race van. A chance encounter with a mate who wanted to get rid of his Iveco 35S12 2.3 HPI turned up the pace a bit. You might have notice the images down the sides (can you guess where this is going). He wanted sensible money and the thing was basically built and ready to go. A short while later the T5 was sold and I was at his house to take a look on a Tuesday evening. I knew it had been used for horse racing trips and had only just been brought up from his parents so was ready for a less than polished item.
