Bigger should be better

I needed a bigger van but following up from the T5 was not going to be easy.

This has been playing on my mind for over a year now and with the purchase of another race bike, the problem was getting bigger.
What I wanted was enough space for two, preferably three bikes with some living space. I was going to need to convert or buy an already converted race van.
A chance encounter with a mate who wanted to get rid of his Iveco 35S12 2.3 HPI turned up the pace a bit. You might have notice the images down the sides (can you guess where this is going). He wanted sensible money and the thing was basically built and ready to go.
A short while later the T5 was sold and I was at his house to take a look on a Tuesday evening. I knew it had been used for horse racing trips and had only just been brought up from his parents so was ready for a less than polished item. The van was functional and looking past the hay and dust it didn't look too bad. A few scrapes and dings were no real issue but a suspect speedo, big holes in the sills, a sliding door that wouldn't close properly and a weak feeling clutch were a bit disappointing. I knew there were alternatives out there at either substantially greater cost converted or much newer standard vans for the same money. I decided however to push ahead. A professional conversion was about £10k and if I did it myself it would be hours of work with no guarantee it would even look that good at the end.
A price was negotiated and I set off for the short drive home. On the way the speedo stopped working all together and the windscreen wiper blades fell to pieces with perfect comedy timing What have I bought???
Well I would have to wait till the weekend to see what was the real story with this van until then I best get pricing things up to get this thing up to scratch.

But most importantly; that hedge needs cutting.
